Job Description

The Senior Compliance Manager--to be based in Redmond, WA--will support the compliance function for Stryker's Emergency Care business, a part of the Medical division.  This professional will support the oversight, development and implementation of an effective compliance program in accordance with Stryker Corporate Policy #8.  These responsibilities will encompass a broad range of areas related to Compliance including the application of laws and guidance to business activities and development/implementation of corporate and divisional policies and procedures.  This individual may support the broader Compliance Group as a subject matter expert or inter-divisional project leader in areas such as transparency, training, communications, health care professional interactions, grants and donations, indirect sales channels, issues/investigations, high risk third party vendors, risk management, auditing and monitoring.  Further responsibilities will include:

  • Developing strong relationships throughout areas of responsibility, including all functional areas, departments and divisions to foster an advisory and collaborative approach to proactive compliance. Builds relationships with colleagues across divisions. 
  • Ensuring the development and effective implementation of an annual compliance plan which includes, but is not limited to: communication, training, auditing and monitoring and risk management.
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations, and periodically reviews and updates standards relating to compliance.  These include, but are not limited to, Stryker Corporate Policies and Procedures, industry trends and guidance on country, state/provincial or local laws.
  • Working with Department Centers of Expertise to avoid duplication of efforts and to encourage uniform use of global tools.
  • Participating in specific Departmental, Group or Global initiatives, committees and tasks forces, as applicable. Collaborates with others to build scalable and sustainable global, business and customer-oriented solutions that leverage technology and when implemented ensure one consistent process, remove inefficiencies, and add value.
  • Overseeing the completion of all annual compliance program effectiveness (e.g., SAFE) self-assessments and related audits, and compliance monitoring and audits for the business unit using assessment tools to identify issues, trends and share best practices.
  • Responding to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct through the initiation of appropriate investigation procedures in partnership with Legal and Human Resources.


  • Undergraduate Degree required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years' professional experience.
