What You Will Do
- Ensure business managers have timely and relevant information required for effective planning and control of the business.
- Analyze production and spending variances to tight deadlines at month end.
- May ensure Inventory is correctly valued in the Financial Statements and in line with Corporate policies.
- May assist in the completion of the monthly financial results, projections and budget submissions in accordance with internal deadlines.
- Establish and implement cost control methods through efficiency improvements and cost accounting activities.
- Provide and analyze cost estimates of new or proposed product costs.
- Manage and perform month end and year end closing functions such as preparation and review of month-end journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
- Maintain balance sheet accounts associated with the manufacturing business unit and prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage the application of policy and internal controls.
- Partner with Department Managers with regard to the ongoing development of their financial knowledge and the preparation of monthly financial projections.
- Work with the Departments to ensure internal controls are working effectively.
- Participate in cross functional and cross divisional process improvement initiatives.
- Drive process changes in the Finance area to ensure the provision of timely and relevant information to key business owners.
- Drive data integrity with the Business Units / Departments.
- Actively contribute as part of the Finance Team to setting and achieving the team’s goals and objectives.

What You Need
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other relevant field of study.
- Ideally a Qualified Professional Accounting qualification.
- Ideally 3+ years’ experience in a Finance position supporting a high-performance manufacturing business environment.
- Good knowledge of ERP systems and proficient use of MS Office applications in particular Excel.
- Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills
- Develops, implements and/or maintains one or a combination of cost accounting systems.
- Prepares journal entries; maintains and reconciles ledger accounts.
- Demonstrated ability to apply financial knowledge directly to area of responsibility as well as identify potential impacts to up/down stream areas of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate issues identified and make corrective actions independently or raise awareness to supervisor with proposal of corrective actions to be taken.
- Demonstrated ability to focus on personal deliverables, work independently within defined deadlines and close on multiple assignments simultaneously.
