We are currently seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to work in our brand-new, state of the art facility in Kalamazoo, MI.

What you will do-

  • Lead research, design, and development of complex engineering projects as assigned
  • Provide technical oversight to team; monitor and control progress of engineering projects 
  • Collaborate with other units, vendors, and senior managers to ensure design for manufacturability
  •  Provide guidance in conducting and evaluating design verification and validation activities to comply with internal standards and regulations.
  • Research, develop, design, test, and document electrical components, equipment, architectures, systems, and networks
  • Manage cost, schedule, and concurrent engineering efforts through the electrical engineering life-cycle
  • Utilize, and provide leadership to others in utilizing electronic lab test equipment
  •  Perform electrical parts’ FMEA, reliability, manufacturability and serviceability analysis
  • Conduct feasibility studies, determine manpower and cost estimates, and develop engineering criteria.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and performance feedback to more junior engineers and technicians

What You Need

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 8+ years of related experience is required, or a related master’s degree with 6+ years of experience
  • Experience with the electrical design and development of a volume-manufactured product with a focus on reliability and manufacturability
  • Complete understanding and wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in the field of electrical engineering, including but not limited  to EMI, EMC, Current Leakage, electrical safety, industrial sensors, circuit boards with microcontrollers, microprocessors, wiring harness, electrical schematics, DC power management 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the  IEC 61010 and 61326 standards 
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of digital communication, RS232, BUS

Work From Home: Occasional

Travel Percentage: 20%
