Job Description

Stryker New Production team is a business unit within the Endoscopy and Sports Medicine branches that focuses on delivering high quality products to our customers. We work to manufacture, build, test, and ship new products on a timely basis. We facilitate builds to meet the demands of a growing business while maintaining lean processes. 

Our production technicians are key factors in helping our business meet quality and business goals for our customers. Team members build, repair, and/or test a wide range of electrical/electronic, and/or precision mechanical equipment in a bench workstation environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds, repairs, and/or tests a variety of new and older products using standard and/or non-standard tools, equipment, and procedures.
  • Works from engineering schematics and/or follow documented assembly procedures.
  • Works from verbal instructions.
  • Works on precision sub-assembly, assembly, or rework of parts involving a considerable number of details and independent judgment.
  • Complies with documentation procedures.
  • Trains new employees on assembly or documentation procedures.
  • Tests and/or repairs various new and older products using considerable independent judgment to ensure quality, correct parts, and/or proper procedures are used.
  • Interacts with customers (telephonically) to diagnose product issues.
  • Generates documentation to correct and enhance current procedures and practices.
  • Able to build, analyze, and rework various products on their lines as well as help other team members when needed. Coordinate rework of products with engineers
  • Coordinate with supervisor, team lead, and other technicians to meet build demands and solve problems
  • Drive, track, and report team metrics daily
  • Drive completion of 6S activities
  • Drive and participate in continuous improvement activities to continue advancing business processes
  • Provide information and walk auditors through build processes as required

Qualifications:

  • 2 year (minimum) technical product assembly.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Technical school, apprenticeship, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Medium Work:  Exerting up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • The ability to work with and assemble small objects and component parts.
  • Must have very good visual acuity.
  • Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies.
  • Must be able to follow and explain detailed instructions and inspection procedures.
  • Must be able to complete detailed documentation accurately.
  • Must be able to communicate product or component part deficiencies to supervisory or engineering personnel.
  • Must be able to analyze and correct non-routine product issues using independent judgment.
  • Basic writing skills.
  • Ability to utilize computer and email skills.
  • High reliability soldering.
  • Blueprint/schematic reading.
  • Ability to operate small hand tools (e.g. pliers, screwdriver, hammer, wrench, etc.), power tools, and test equipment.
  • Basic math. reading, writing and measuring skills.
  • Basic interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated mechanical/electrical problem solving.
  • Must have good verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced soldering skills.
