What you will do

The Manager, US Field Supply Chain - Commercial Operations will lead a team of Business Analysts and oversee new requests for inventory placements. In this role, you will build relationships with customers and key stakeholders, and maximize inventory assets to grow the business.  The Manager, Commercial Operations will partner with Sales Leaders and Field Offices to make sure customer service levels and satisfaction are met, while creating a leaner and more profitable supply chain. Essential duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Manage a team that will partner with and influence Joint Replacement sales leaders and Branch Operations Managers teams on inventory placements and sales opportunities.
  • Partner with Marketing to place new product launch kits and Limited Market Release/Launch sets
  • Assist Field Offices with researching availability of key backordered items from other Field Office locations. Work with IBP and Demand Planning Managers to drive standardized planning processes. Partner with Demand Planning and Marketing on new product launch forecasts. Attend and provide input during monthly IBP meetings and forecasting additional kit builds.
  • Ensure forecasts and inventory measurements are prepared, reported, and communicated to the Integrated Business Planning Manager within Global Ops and Division management. Ensure appropriate communication is provided back to the division and partner with Finance for setting Field budgets.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and new product development teams to define launch strategy and manage product life cycle implications to demand and inventory. Partner with PLCM on initiatives to burn down stock and request final orders.
  • Present recommendations for product rationalization to Executive Management.
  • Check inventory records to determine availability of requested products.
  • Prepare financial analysis of ownership targets.
  • Work with additional Field Offices for alternative product obtainment for underutilized assets.
  • Confer with distribution, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel to expedite or trace deliveries.
  • Review inventory turns and make recommendations on increasing or decreasing stock levels.
  • Review implant and instrument budgets and approve Non-Automatic Replenishment Orders (ARO), including requests for increased par levels and expired replacements.
  • Ensure that visibility is provided to the supply chain on expected demand or events through the demand signaling process.
  • Review KPIs to proactively identify misalignment between sales, demand, and supply chain capacity with relevant team to address and close gaps.
  • Provide business intelligence from the US Field to Demand Planning by facilitating a collaborative planning process with Sales, Marketing and Finance personnel (Divisional IBP meetings) and Global Quality and Operations partners.
  • Achieve customer service levels, forecast accuracy, and inventory metrics for the division.
  • Lead and participate in the development, modification and improvement of procedures, policies and processes regarding allocation management.
  • Drive implementation and use of corporate planning tools

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred  
  • 5+ years of experience years of supply chain, warehouse, or financial inventory control systems, processes and placement required.  This includes situational needs assessment, product usage, and inventory control systems and processes.
  • 4+ years of demonstrated people management experience in a Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field, with ability to build talented teams and drive engagement required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of demand management/forecasting tools, forecasting processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, manufacturing and supply chain issues.
  • Proven track record of analyzing and scheduling order management activities to support forecasts, target inventories, and multiple supply chain activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment when representing the company in supply chain decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and demonstrated presentation skills with prior experience presenting to senior level executives  
  • Demonstrated communication and analytical/quantitative skills, demonstrated strength in interdependent partnering and team management. 
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work under time pressure, accuracy, and prioritization.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inventory management, cost reduction and quality/FDA compliance.
