What You Will Do

Oversees the financial reporting process and supporting systems on a monthly basis.   Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) over financial reporting and related Corporate Accounting policies.  Manages coordination of both external and internal audits and maintains processes narratives.  Coordinates with Stryker Corporate on all matter of financial compliance.  Manages daily operations of Accounting Department staff.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the month end closing process; approves journal entries and maintains integrity of the internal reporting system and Helios platform.
  • Oversees distribution of entity level and department level financial statements
  • Participate in the monthly Flash calls and provide assistance to the VP of Finance in analyzing monthly financial results
  • Assists in the annual budgeting process
  • Prepares and reviews month end and quarterly reporting
  • Financial administrator of the Blackline account reconciliation software
  • Leads the evaluation and documentation of key financial process and system related financial statement risks on annual basis
  • Implement key Stryker controls to ensure compliance with SOX
  • Design and execute testing of internal controls in compliance with professional audit standards
  • Conduct interviews with Company personnel and document business processes, risks and controls
  • Coordinate with both external and internal auditors to facilitate compliance and financial audits
  • Leads new financial initiatives and programs as directed by Stryker Corporate

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. 
  • Preferred CPA or equivalent financial certification
  • 10-15 years of accounting, audit, finance or other relevant industry experience
  • Public accounting or internal audit background preferred
