Job Description

The Legal Counsel, Nordics will provide legal support for the commercial activities of the Stryker Nordic Business. Consequently, the successful Legal Counsel must be prepared to work in a dynamic, evolving environment and undertake different responsibilities as a key player in the commercial business.

Your key responsibilities

  • Drafting, negotiating and execution of Nordic-based commercial contractual arrangements, including contracts for cross-divisional sales and services, strategic tenders and procurement.
  • Providing effective legal services for the Stryker Nordic sales division, including advisory support for your colleagues in marketing, sales, and indirect channels.
  • Instructing outside counsel and working with outside counsel under direction.
  • Developing strong working relationships with the Stryker business and pan-European Legal teams.
  • Providing training and education to stakeholders to ensure the proper functioning and transparency of the law and contractual processes.
  • Maintaining working knowledge of current and emerging laws and regulations.These include, but are not limited to Stryker Corporate Policies and Procedures, industry trends and guidance on country, provincial or local laws.
  • Responding to alleged violation of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and standards of conduct by recommending the initiation of appropriate procedures in partnership with the business.
  • Making recommendations to Legal & Compliance leadership with regard to the development or revision of existing policies, procedures or systems.

What are we looking for

  • Experienced go-to person that has a passion for being supportive, giving advices, sharing knowledge and improving the business with their guidance.
  • Law Degree required; Graduate Degree or professional accreditation preferred - MBA, JD, or other upper-level degree.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ professional experience.
  • Contract drafting and negotiation experience.
  • Fluency in English and Swedish. Any other language is a plus.
  • Autonomous and solution-oriented working style.
  • Completes complex tasks under minimal supervision or guidance.
  • Perceived as highly competent with developing business acumen and good judgment.
