JOB TITLE:  Kit Room Administrator Location: Johannesburg

The job should possess a good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts & principles upon which the job is based.

The role has clearly defined procedures and tasks as well as defined guidelines to aid in decision making.

The knowledge can be acquired through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.

The job works within well-defined procedures that may involve a variety of work routines.

This position requires knowledge that is acquired through experience, specialised education, or training.

Key Activities & Accountabilities

Checking instruments sets against check lists.

  • Assemble all parts to ensure that they are in the correct working conditions
  • Check the instruments, lot number and item number against the bill of material and physical instruments and ensure that they correspond.

Checking implants sets against checklist

  • Assemble all parts to ensure that they are in the correct working condition on the un-sterile implants sets
  • Ensure that the sterile implants are within the expiry date

Washing of Sets

  • To ensure that the wash sets are washed according to the QA procedures, upkeep pf wash bay
  • Check for broken or damaged instruments

Received Bookings (this is the admin requirement) as a separate function….

  • To receive the bookings for the sets and capture on MFG
  • Daily stats of the sets booked out on Excel
  • Monthly report of the bookings
  • Managing the STC files

On call

  • Work on call 1 week every month – 7 days a week. (kit room requirement)
  • Overtime as and when requested
  • Process driven at all times, communication interaction with external and internal teams. The ability to be conscientious, consistent and though.
  • Providing excellence to internal and external clients.


This job typically requires a minimum of 3 or more years experience.
Medical product knowledge is desirable but not essential

Drivers Licence , own car desirable

Experience working in a warehouse/stores environment

Microsoft Excel

ERP systems
