Job Description

The Solution Lead will facilitate the strategy and development of a holistic view of Stryker's Commercial Functions customer base, creating innovative strategic solutions. Additionally, the Solution Lead will plan and deliver customer experience solutions/strategies across the company, ensuring our solutions and platforms work seamlessly and capture all required information at key points in the customer life cycle. This position Works closely with all departments to ensure solutions work effectively for all aspects within the Information Services (IS) function.

The Solution Lead will design IS solutions, ensuring alignment with business architecture of the solution domain and the internal architecture of the solution (e.g. application suite architecture). The Solution Lead interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather, document, and analyze business needs and requirements. They are responsible for coordinating communication among various business groups, IS technical teams, and vendors. The Solution Lead investigates and selects emerging technologies as needed and creates a future state roadmap of the domain architecture (CRM, ERP etc.) and drives an understanding of business challenges to business value (ROI) from a solution/technology standpoint. Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with a diverse business community and GIO to document as-is and to-be business processes.
  • Documenting clear and testable requirements which describe a system which will be implemented.
  • Recommending business process and system changes to improve efficiency and business outcomes.
  • Ensuring clear communication between business stakeholders and IT technical teams.
  • Delivering the right technology to support business process following EA guidance.
  • Responsible for the quality of the solution/code – establishing and enforcing best practices and standards.
  • Responsible for end-to-end technology/data flow.
  • Enabling developers and technical resources to contribute to a coherent solution architecture.
  • Working on the level of individual solutions and their integrations.
  • Creating, documenting, communicating and maintaining the overall design of a single or integrated set of solutions through their life cycle.
  • Supporting and participating in the definition and prioritization of quality requirements from all solution stakeholders.
  • Coaching developers, technical resources, and Solution Leads.
  • Capturing and disseminating development and operations experience.
  • Overseeing and reviewing designs and solutions for compliance with solution architecture, enterprise architecture and domain guidance.
  • Defining and documenting interfaces between components and solutions guided by common business, domain and enterprise schema standards.
  • Supporting solution life cycle planning.
  • Keeping abreast of new and updated technologies, methods and products.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining environment strategies, release/technical deployment processes, and version control.
  • Responsible for integration design patterns and best practices for each platform.

Education & Special Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in Project Management, CRM, software implementations, portfolio management, systems development methodology.
  • Minimum of 3-8 years of professional work experience with 3-5 years of CRM application experience.
  • Experience with leading a geographically distributed team.
  • Effective at developing and delivering senior management level updates.
  • Experience in the application (Ex. salesforce.com) being built is strongly preferred.
  • Experience navigating complex interpersonal and business relationships is required.
  • Experience with process mapping is required.
  • Experience documenting complex processes and presenting them in a clear and understandable format is required.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend changes to complex business processes is required.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment is strongly preferred.
