The IS ERP Business Architect, in partnership with other Work Stream Business Architects and Business Process Owners, defines the vision, strategy and implementation of Stryker’s End to End integrated processes and capabilities with ERP and other technology platforms. The IS ERP Business Architect serves as the liaison between Business Process teams, IS Process Owners and Solution Delivery. Additionally, the IS ERP Business Architect creates processes and capability frameworks spanning different workstreams value chains, identifies and manages other process integration impacts, and ensures adoption of industry standard practices, global templates, and adheres to program guiding principles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works across all workstreams (OTC, RTR, PTP, FTS, RAQA, BA and non-program related ones) IS Business Architects to ensure alignment with overall ERP “end to end” business processes and technology architecture.
  • Leads the design and decision making to deliver the End-To-End processes requirements within the respective domain and is responsible to address any process design gaps.
  • Documents, designs and architects the End-to-End value chain and ensures implementation into the ERP solution.
  • Partners with the Business Data Leads to document data architecture and lineage of core data models as it relates to End-To-End processes.
  • Leads or contributes to solution proto-typing, configuration, conference room pilots, testing, and cutover activities.
  • Leads or contributes to the assessment of the current and to-be application landscape for processes in scope.
  • If required by the scope of work, lead a group of contractors in the implementation of deliverables through the project life cycle.
  • Ensures the successful implementation of the End-To-End functionality that supports business processes within the area of responsibility.
  • Coordinates preparation activities for the different project testing cycles. (e.g. scenario identification, user security set up, master data, transactional data, etc.) and is accountable to coordinate the remediation of defects through necessary relevant resources.
  • Coordinates knowledge transfer between Project and Run Organization resources.
  • Develops and manages relationships with project team members and business stakeholders.

Education & Special Trainings:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the areas of Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent field of study required.
  • Master's degree in MIS, MBA or related disciplines is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years’ industry or consulting experience with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical business process implementation required.
  • Deep understanding of SAP necessary.
  • Deep understanding of ERP applications required.
  • Experience with process mapping is required.
  • Experience with HP-ALM test tools preferred.
  • Understanding of SAP ABAP and interface (data exchange) technologies like EDI, BAPI, RFC, HCI, etc. desired.
  • Understanding of Kits, Customer Consignment, Field Inventory Management Systems, Service Management, Make to Order and Configure to Order preferred.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix organization structure with significant emphasis on collaboration and persuasion, rather than relying entirely on command and control.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of a core and end-to-end business processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, analytical, change management and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an agency-regulated environment is preferred.
  • Experience with, and a strong ability to quickly learn complex enterprise system architecture and technology, software design, complex data movement, and integration points.
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships within program team and other relevant IT organizations.
  • Change agent, with the ability to negotiate, build consensus and influence the business

  • Demonstrated ability to maintain clear communication channels with IS and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to convert complex business functions into technical specifications.
