Job Description

Job´s mission:

Based in Duisburg,Germany  the Human Resources Director GSAP  (Germany, Switzerland, Austria & Poland)  will report to the VP HR , Europe.  This role will partner with the GSAP business in both functional and commercial areas to provide human resources leadership to support the achievement of business objectives. As a key Business Partner to the MD GSAP, the HRD  is responsible for designing and executing the HR strategy to meet the needs of the business.  Also ensures quality delivery of all HR operations supporting the commercial organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an advisor and strategic business partner to the MD GSAP in the development of a formal HR strategy and tactical plans/programs that support attainment of business goals
  • Leads the execution of HR operations supporting the commercial organisation
  • Build alignment with key stakeholders
  • Serve as a coach to the leadership teams for GSAP
  • Manage the HR operating budget with the focus on enhanced productivity and customer service
  • Build a strong organisational talent pipeline
  • Exercise rigor in evaluating productivity and general performance, vis-à-vis trends and approaches at competition
  • Work across functions to build partnerships and high quality human resources leadership
  • Collaborate with Divisional HR Leaders to share best practices and build a strong sense of partnership across the Transatlantic Operating Model

Talent Management:

  • Design and implements talent management, leadership development solutions and programs within an integrated development framework
  • Manage talent reviews and succession planning with business leaders
  • Partners with senior leaders and gains agreement and commitment to proposed Talent Management activities/solutions
  • Coaches managers on the development needs for their teams
  • Facilitates and supports the use of OD tools and processes within the regions that support business needs and build organisational capability (in conjunction with the VP HR)

Engagement and Retention:

  • Leads and co-ordinates key engagement programs e.g Q12, Best Companies
  • In conjunction with compensation, develops and recommends retention programs to assure organisational stability and manage the Common Annual Review process
  • Actively participates in the ongoing development of a corporate culture which strives to achieve the highest ethical standards

People Management:

    • Coach, develop and lead team by providing developmental and growth opportunities
    • Support the team to develop and maintain meaningful individual development plans
    • Build and maintain exceptional employee engagement throughout the team
    • Conduct annual performance reviews & bi-annually interim performance reviews

    Your qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree, Masters or MBA with human resource specialisation is desirable
    • 10 years overall HR experience with at least 3 of these in a people management role
    • Demonstrated experience as a true business partner
    • Experience of managing HR within a US MNC
    • Experience across multiple key functional areas such as C&B, Talent Management, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Employee Relations
    • Experience of influencing and engagement senior stakeholders on HR initiatives
    • Experience of organisational design and change management
    • Ability to operate within a matrix organisation
