Stryker is implementing a transformative program focused on optimizing the Finance function to support business growth and functional scalability.  The Center of Excellence (COE) for the Americas region will focus on supporting countries and product divisions in the region in a variety of specialized finance and accounting areas, including:  financial planning & reporting, finance systems, leases, inventory, and other complex accounting areas.     

In the early stages of building out the COE, the Financial Planning and Reporting System Lead will focus on establishing a financial planning & reporting system solution and represent Stryker Finance’s financial system capabilities supporting the global financial planning & reporting processes.  The Financial Planning and Reporting System Lead will work globally across finance locations, other functions, key master data domains and global programs to ensure quality and efficient access to data and information required for financial planning & reporting.  The Financial Planning and Reporting System Lead will partner with stakeholders on new or changing data requirements, troubleshoot data topics and collaborate with Finance delivery teams and the IS organization on reaching optimal outcomes. The Financial Planning and Reporting System Lead  will also engage in Finance master data activities including governance, policy management, data standards and quality management processes.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a deep understanding of financial planning & reporting systems, coupled with the ability and desire to provide “hands-on” experience as this role will help with the financial planning & reporting system implementation.

Responsibilities will evolve as this new function is established. 

Short-term focus-financial planning & reporting system development and implementation:

  • Support Stryker’s implementation partner during build, test, and launch of financial planning & reporting system
  • Establish data policies, procedures, and governance
  • Drive adoption of the Finance data model/warehouse

Ongoing responsibilities-financial planning & reporting system support:

  • Leads the design and support of the financial planning & reporting system environment, including information and data acquisition, management, definition and delivery
  • Partner with master data domain owners across various ERPs, master data systems and data warehouses to ensure the data is fit for purpose in Finance processes
  • Works with the company’s data stewards to represent the Finance organization’s interests
  • Maintain and execute periodic data quality assessments and data cleanup/remediation

Additional responsibilities/projects

  • Special projects as COE expands into other areas
  • Participate in M&A integration activities to assess the impact to Finance requirements and standards

Education & special trainings:

  • Bachelor's Degree: Required
  • Experience building and maintaining financial planning & reporting systems:  Required

Qualifications & experience:

  • 8+ years experience in financial planning & reporting systems
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data accurately and efficiently
  • Fluency in English required
  • Strong ability to coordinate action across dispersed workforce and highly matrixed organization
  • Strong written and verbal skills enabling effective communication with all levels of management
  • Effective problem-solving skills
