Job Description

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for departmental compliance with company policies and corrective actions
  • Proactively collaborates with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) over financial reporting and related Corporate Accounting Policies
  • Establish and monitor audit procedures to ensure the internal control environment is designed and operating effectively, as well as provide recommendations for enhancements to controls, policies, and procedures to Senior Management.
  • Develop and execute an internal audit plan for Stryker Canada in collaboration with the  business
  • Manage SOX and financial statement audits with Corporate Internal Audit and external auditors. This includes managing internal resources and deliverables, drafting responses to represent managements position on recommendations, and ensuring follow-up activities are implemented by the agreed upon deadlines
  • Coordinate with compliance regarding financial aspects of Corporate Compliance activities
  • Serve as primary contact for all tax compliance activities, including coordination with the corporate tax group, CRA and provincial authorities
  • Prepare transparency reporting tasks and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform internal audits as required
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Controller

  • Conduct work in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations and in accordance with Stryker’s high ethical standards
  • Report any violations of these policies and procedures to Stryker management or in the manner outlined in Stryker’s Ethics Hotline Policy
