What You Will Do

You will perform a wide variety of technical work in planning and design of embedded hardware electronic circuits and PCB design which will lead to new or improved products/product lines under marketing, cost, time and regulatory constraints for medical devices that supports our Orthopaedic Customer needs.

  • You will support creation of embedded systems requirements/architecture for new products leading to engineering PCB assembly board-spins/bring-ups and finally to a finished product.
  • You will, through design process, complete analysis for electromagnetic compliance (EMC), reliability, safety, cost and design for manufacturing/assembly/test.
  • You will assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development and test fixture development.
  • You will work with Technical Leadership and project management team on breaking down work, scheduling, risks, and project updates.
  • You will interact with customers to support determining requirements and validation of requirements.
  • You will plan and conduct engineering research, design, development and/or manufacturing engineering projects as assigned.
  • You will monitor and control progress of projects to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used and design intent is being followed/achieved.
  • You will coordinate with other units, vendors and senior managers as needed to ensure specific cost, time and/or regulatory standards are met.
  • You will communicate with customers by phone and/or in person to resolve product issues and/or coordinate on special orders.
  • You will have administrative authority for engineering drawings, BOM and engineering change orders.
  • You will submit periodic reports on assigned topics to appropriate personnel.
  • You will train others on functionally related topics.
  • You will evaluate the results of projects and provide manufacturing guidance/assistance as needed.


What You Need

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of equivalent experience
  • Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Demonstrated electrical problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with ProE or CAD.
  • Demonstrated technical design and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the quality system, i.e. design control procedures.
  • Understanding of the validation and verification process.
