In this role, you will design and develop electrical / electronic systems for new and existing surgical robotic systems.  You will also generate detailed electrical and electronic designs and release applicable documentation.  You will work closely with senior engineering members and several engineering disciplines (software, mechanical, and systems) to deliver Stryker products.

What You Will Do

  • Create designs for printed circuit board and electrical subsystems for use within robotic systems.
  • Implement designs and concepts, draft design documentation, plan and conduct relevant reviews and tests.
  • Debug electrical circuit problems and implement corrective action.  Document and release the corrective action. 
  • Investigates field problems to root cause and propose resolutions. 
  • Adequately use development tools, such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and soldering stations.
  • Communicate schedules as determined by project leaders.
  • Clearly communicate status of assignments, coordinate tasks.
  • Ability to shift priorities as dictated by project demands.
  • Work with several internal customers such as other research and development groups, manufacturing and quality.
  • Apply Stryker and industry standards and best practices.

What You Need

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate (PhD) Electrical / Electronics Engineering degree from an ABET accredited school
  • 0-3 years experience
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and how to apply them to product design and development for robotic platforms and accessories.
  • Knowledge of Analog and Digital mixed circuit design.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems (electronics and firmware within a electro-mechanical chassis).
  • Be detailed oriented  with strong written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of programming test tools (such as Labview, Matlab) a plus.
  • Knowledge of design tools (Altium or Orcad/Allegro design tools) a plus.
