The Job's Mission is:

Responsible for resolving commercial Big data issues and lead the development of new technical advanced, predictive analytics solutions as to enable the business to gain new valuable customer insights and real-time identify sales growth opportunities.

Act as the business owner of new data science solutions and partner with the Stryker global BI team as to implement successful pilots in a real-time production environment leveraging our global Big data platform.

By sourcing data through web-scraping, investigating and linking structured and unstructured data, act as the expert who can create (prediction) models that recognize and explore the underlying patterns and transform the output into ready to consume customer insights.

Part of the Business Enablement Solutions Analytics team, this is a strategic role to help Stryker deliver its sales growth strategy in Europe and become a data driven commercial organisation.

The Data Scientist will be responsible for creating new scalable, analytical business tools leveraging machine learning and the latest Big Data technology and enable the commercial analysts and commercial business teams to gain new insights and reduce time spent on data searching, cleaning, analysing and shift focus towards running the business with supporting facts, insights and foresights.

The Datascientist will act – reporting to the Europe Analytics Director – as EU single point of contact and lead data science innovative projects vs Global IS and train the commercial analysts to understand and apply any data models to derive insights for the respective Divisions they support.

Key Activities & Accountabilities:

  • Identify technical solutions which are fit for purpose and address complex business questions requiring BIG data input (big volume, variety in data sources, volatile/unstructured data)
  • Implement algorithms in real-time production environments.
  • Get the analysis to production working with a Python development pipeline and optimise it with Machine Learning and/or Spark.
  • Transform the output data into user friendly data visualisations with PowerBI.
  • Master the art of working with real-world data streams.
  • Manage content of the Eu MI data lake, using all technical knowledge and Big data tools.
  • Continuesly learn as to stay up to speed with latest technology


  • Fluent  in English (speaking and writing)
  • Master Degree in Data Science


  • Min 5 years of professional experience as a Data Analyst or relevant working experience
  • Min 3 years of professional experience working with real-world data streams
  • Effective communication skills, able to present complex analytics to commercial stakeholders –Divisional Leadership Teams (Marketing Director,Finance Director , Sales Director level)
  • Ability to comprehensively understand master data, transactional and analytical data, hierarchies, sources and relationships
  • Should be able to speak language of both IT and Business
