Job Description

The Business Development Manager (BDM) works to improve the organization’s market position, support growth and promote/communicate Endoscopy value proposition. He/She reports to the Business Unit Director (BUD) Endoscopy. The BDM defines long-term organizational strategic goals, support BUD and Regional Sales Manager (RSM), build key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions. It is key element of this job to collaborate closely with the RSM, marketing team, and other internal organization to increase sales opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for the organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for a sales target.
  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
  • Identify potential clients, potential value of business and products and build a business plan identifing decision makers within the client organization.
  • Meet potential clients to present how Stryker value proposition can meet and satisfy Customer’s need and development.
  • Work closely with BUD/RSM to price the solution/service.  
  • Support the presentation of new products and opportunities to existing customers to enhance existing relationships.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
  • Collaborate with KAD and other BDM on cross Divisional deal.
  • Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Develop internal connection to be update and knowlegeble on future Stryker launch and investment and start preparing the market for those.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing Stryker value proposition and how this can support Customer development.
  • Support the BUD to ensure that Stryker is represented among the Surgery community by create connections with the main surgeon’s organizations and main national KOL.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Understand the company’s goal and purpose to enhance the company’s performance.
  • Map competitors structure and collect as many information as possible on competitors selling advantage.
  • Submit periodic projections to ensure data is accurate.
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company sales management system.

What we are looking for

  • Degree holder in medical, sales or marketing related area, MBA would be a plus.
  • At least 5 years of sales/marketing experience, preferably in healthcare industry.
  • Proven record in sales management, channel management or key account management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent problem solving & interpersonal skills.
  • Results-oriented with good negotiation &communications skill.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain key business relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment.
