Job Description

The Associate Product Manager -- to be based in Leesburg, VA -- will be a key member of Stryker's Spine division, responsible for developing product and marketing strategies and programs consistent with Stryker's overall business objectives. This will be achieved by utilizing traditional marketing approaches and methodologies.  This position is considered entry level and will involve ongoing training and supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Works with team to develop product and/or marketing strategies within a product line or marketing function.
  • Works with marketing team to develop product marketing strategies.
  • Works with supervisor and co-workers to evaluate market trends and segment penetration opportunities.
  • Works with team to ensure a consistent positioning and branding image throughout product lines, promotional materials and marketing/sales events.
  • Works with team to drive the product/marketing message through all communication channels by partnering with internal and external communication resources and functions.
  • Collaborates under supervision with field sales management and consulting surgeons to evaluate and validate marketing strategies and programs.
  • Aids in the execution of internal engagement programs such as Partners for the Advancement of Spine Excellence (PASE).
  • Supports Spine sales force.

Education / Special Training:

  • 4 year degree

Qualifications /Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience in a classical marketing function and direct product management experience.
  • Prior work experience / internships in the medical device industry helpful.
  • Competent interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment
  • Competent oral and written skills (both in groups and one-on-on interaction)
  • Competent analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve deliverable results.
  • Significant coaching required.
