What you will do-

The Associate Global Sourcing Manager is a supply chain leadership position that involves collaborating across multiple departments and Stryker divisions in order to improve the supplier management practices of the organization. 

This role requires an ability to build positive relationships with key suppliers while leveraging these relationships to improve supplier quality, costs, service, and FDA compliance.  An ability to work across functional disciplines and represent the interests of these groups in working with suppliers is important.  Talent for properly setting expectations with suppliers and driving supplier development to meet expectations is a key attribute for persons in this role.  Individuals are encouraged to find creative approaches to managing supplier relationships.  Supply chain metric development and measurement are important tools for the Associate Global Sourcing Manager position.

Additional Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Cost reduction & cost negotiations
  • Supplier contract initiation, review and approval
  • Supplier relationship development
  • R&D support (new supplier development)
  • Supplier selection / Auditing to ISO13485:2003 and FDA QSR Standards
  • Cross-division supplier collaboration
  • Quality tracking and measurement
  • Operations/Production support with key suppliers
  • Supply base risk reduction

New Product Introduction (NPI) Specific Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project teams adhere to strategic direction of Sourcing and purchasing controls requirements related to design projects
  • Leverage improvements to project timelines from experience w/ key suppliers and project teams
  • Preliminary influence on key project team members to inspire quicker overall deliverables for projects
  • Drives key efficiencies w/ suppliers and communication tools support faster & more product launches
  • Identify process improvements to either supplier or Stryker processes to drive better speed to market, quality and long term delivery
  • Identify efficiencies for First Article deliveries and closures
  • May support more projects or projects that expand across multiple business units

What you need-

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field required (Bachelor's/Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Quality or Industrial Engineering strongly preferred)
  • 5+ years related experience
  • Demonstrated collaboration, negotiation & conflict resolution skills (relationship management)

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of supplier contract terms, processes, and ability to apply
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies & cost reduction methodologies
  • Commodity specific experience (PCBA, Wire Harnesses, Machining, Sheet Metal, OEM, etc.)
  • Knowledge of supplier management IT systems (Oracle, SAP, SRMs, CRMs, iSupply or related) skills/experience
  • Supplier/Project Management experience
  • Experience with supplier metrics & measurement methodologies and supporting systems
  • Supplier Audit experience in quality system standards: FDA QSR, ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 education/training
