Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Engineer Intern must be self-motivated, self-starting, and self-educating.  Intern will get real world experience on designing reliable products that meets customer expectations, hands on experience using high end software and hardware industry tools.  Intern will learn how to manage schedule and improve their presentation skills.  Intern will learn working with cross-functional teams, EE, ME, and Manufacturing.

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify the needs and the goals of future products/identify the greatest needs for improvements on current products
  • Research new technologies, customer expectations, business requirements and regulations
  • Work with a variety of tools that may include CAD, FEA and out Test Labs to develop new product concepts and root cause analysis methods
  • Utilize technical education to design new products and drive them from concept to production and improve the safety and efficacy of our existing products

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College student between their Junior and Senior year
  • Completed 3 years of an undergraduate college degree in in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,  Computer Science, Reliability Engineering or related discipline

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to interact with a cross-functional team (electrical, mechanical, and Reliability)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, able to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement
  • Proficient on basic computer programs:  Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills

WORKING CONDITIONS:    

Normal, fast paced office environment, requires significant use of computer keyboard, monitor and mouse, and extended work hours as needed
