What you will do

  • Organizes and schedules all necessary resources required to accomplish activities.
  • Delegates operational responsibilities to immediate team based on priorities, business volumes and team projects.
  • Plans, distributes, monitors, and follows-up daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards and agreements.
  • Manages the end-of-day check-in process, capturing and communicating key service, safety, and equipment issues.
  • Monitors laborer time, coordinating with management in minimizing overtime and ensuring maximum productivity
  • Documents operational issues to the Team Leader for effective team accountability and positive reinforcements. 
  • Primary contact for Sales Representatives.
  • Review scheduled surgeries and use operational tools to allocate products accordingly.
  • Check inventory records to determine availability of requested products.
  • Work with internal and external resources for alternative product obtainment (e.g. loaner bank, other Branch’s, consignments).
  • Confer with distribution, sales, shipping, warehouse, or common carrier personnel in order to expedite or trace deliveries.
  • Partner with Inbound Operations to expedite the check in process on high demand products.
  • Partner with courier dispatcher on delivery and pick up routes to maximize the quantity of product being moved and reduce cost.
  • Documents problem and provides instructions to dispatch/service should problems recur.
  • Reviews and audits documentation related to route operations on a daily basis (e.g., DVIRs, driver time and attendance, open tickets), following-up where appropriate.
  • Review inventory turns and make recommendations on increasing or decreasing stock levels.
  • Inspect outgoing loaners and provide a quality double check.
  • Inspect products and materials for damage, defects, or shortages.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Partner with Team Leader to investigate service level issues and implement procedures and policies from corrective action.
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedule.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Supports management in preparation for branch audits.
  • Rotate in the on-call schedule.
  • Schedule and lead meetings with team members to update on any new policies/procedures including Quality Assurance.
  • Regularly review the work area for compliance with safety procedures and 5 Pillars.
  • Implement and support Quality initiatives throughout branch.
  • Through a combination of on the job experience and personal learning this person has developed into the key contact for related processes.
  • Responsible to meet and track Key Performance Metrics which may include transit time, dwell time, cost per mile, etc.
  • Be a TMS (WebOps/Cheetah Mobility) system super user.
  • Lead trainer for new hires.  In depth training to include:
    • Various product lines and compatibility
    • Procedures, workflow, and scheduling tools
    • Quality Assurance policies and procedures
  • Additional account-abilities include:
    • Processing incoming orders for materials, merchandise, or services
    • Informing customers of receipt, shipping, and delays
    • Handling urgent requests
    • Tracking inventory and maintaining accurate records
    • Review overdue shipment returns and partner with dispatcher to schedule the return
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you need

  • 2+ years of warehouse/inventory control experience in a demanding, fast-paced environment
  • 5+ years of experience where coaching, routing assessments and leading employees were requirements of the role
  • Valid Driver’s license with good driving record
  • Demonstrated ability to use knowledge of best practices to mentor and develop staff and in collaboration with others, to drive sound business decisions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for product or order fulfillment.  This includes situational needs assessment, product usage, and inventory control systems and processes
  • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve individual and departmental goals consistent with and supportive of the immediate department and overall goals of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver on multiple competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritizes projects and deliverable's, and interacts effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated computer skills (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Access, ERP, and Word)
  • Demonstrated phone skills; ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to successfully communicate verbally and in writing
  • Demonstrated customer service skills
  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours, as needed to support the business needs, including weekend and evening call as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
