We are currently seeking a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer located in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

What you will do

As a Senior Staff Electrical Engineer in on the orthopedic Instruments Sterile Processing Department team you will design, lead and launch electromechanical products that make healthcare better!

In this role, you will provide leadership and technical direction across our Electrical Engineering program team, in addition to maintaining individual design ownership. You will work collaboratively with customers, marketing and operations partners to perform customer research, design, test, and document electrical components, architectures, systems and products.

What you need

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree is strongly preferred)
  • 6+ years related/equivalent experience
  • Electrical design and product development experience required (specifically with designs of electronic circuit and/or components of high complexity through feasibility assessment, requirements capture, part selection, schematics capture, simulation, layout, design for EMC and manufacturability (DFM), prototype assembly logistics, board bring-up, test/debugging, system and software integration, verification and manufacturing hand-off strongly preferred)
  • Time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and dependencies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage the balance between cost, quality and time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field of electrical engineering, including but not limited to power supplies, precision low level analog designs, A/D and D/A converters, battery chargers and monitor circuits and FPGA designs
  • Proven track record of understanding, conceptualizing and defining system level architecture
  • Proficiency with Cadence SPB, OrCAD, Perforce, Salae Logic and/or equivalent circuit design and simulation tools
  • Experience developing products in a regulated industry such as medical, avionics, or safety critical hardware design
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to, follow good electrical development processes, along with assisting others through the process
  • Experience leading technical design reviews with the ability to reach consensus on difficult system-level trade-offs
  • A desire to excel as a technical leader, mentor and potentially lead major programs
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the IEC 61010 and 61326 standards
