What you will do

As a Senior Specialist for the Bio Skills laboratory, you’ll be responsible for managing the operations of the bio skills and showcase lab. Responsibilities may include:

  • Event and program scheduling and coordination
  • Facility and equipment maintenance
  • Setup, coordination, organization and scheduling of the bio skills and showcase lab
  • Cadaver acquisition and handling
  • Room set up, event coordination, janitorial and facility management
  • Ensuring instrumentation and equipment are appropriately available, utilized and maintained
  • Ordering specimens and arranging shipment/tissue steward with vendor/serology
  • Troubleshooting and operating common equipment and supporting lab events
  • Cadaver acquisition and handling within state and federal regulations regarding the use, handling, transportation and disposal of cadaver tissue and bio-hazardous waste
  • Define & implement related internal processes & policies
  • Work with third party vendors (shipping, catering, transportation, hotel, etc.), as necessary
  • Manage training materials supplied by divisions for learning events, including receiving shipments, storage, set up and clean up
  • Own, maintain and distribute Bio skills lab and Showcase Lab calendar
  • Implement process and procedure improvements as well as help to develop new procedures for lab protocol
  • Ensure cost saving measures and spending within allocated amount
  • Follow health & safety requirements for working with radiological equipment
  • Ensure necessary personal protective equipment are available and related processes are followed by all users of the facility
  • Work with divisional representatives to manage inventory of medical devices and demo equipment and standard lab equipment required
  • Manage ordering and stocking of disposable equipment and PPE to ensure the lab is properly stocked.

What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • Cadaver lab experience and knowledge of anatomy required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of administrative, organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships at all organizational levels including medical professionals
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as dictated by customer and business needs, including occasional weeknights and weekends
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
