We are searching for an experienced Payroll Manager for our payroll team located in Carrigtwohill, Cork . This is an amazing opportunity to lead and grow our team of Payroll Administrators.

This is a management position that contributes and achieves results through others. This job requires comprehensive understanding of the concepts and principles in the payroll discipline and experience in stakeholder management. The Payroll Manager has full management of their team, including management of people, defining roles and responsibilities, planning for the payroll department's future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions or changes.
 

On a regular basis the Payroll Manager approves payroll payments, payroll taxes and employee benefit payments.  There are 25 payrolls for approval a month across the campus ranging from weekly, bi weekly and monthly payrolls.  You will additionally monitor and adhere to crucial deadlines being met particular in the arena of pension and revenue payments.
 

The Payroll Manager recommends and develops operating efficiency improvements. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 8 or more years experience and ideally Core HR and Workday experience.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Be able to take charge of, inspire and influence a team of a approx. 5 payroll administrators.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees by implementing procedural controls and cross-checks
  • Approval of all payments outside of payroll related to pension, payroll taxes etc
  • Oversee and/or directly support daily activities and escalate to appropriate area where relevant
  • Coordinate and communicate internally and externally with stakeholders on relevant payroll updates.
  • Evaluate current processes and implement changes to improve efficiency ensuring any compensation items are fed directly to relevant payroll eg. Pension, bike to work, Health care changes.
  • Work with external vendors in particular Core HR to ensure level of service is adequate and any payroll queries dealt with in a timely manner
  • Monitor specific payroll payments such as taxable benefits, bonuses, awards, relocation, stock options, merit increases, severance to ensure processed through payroll.
  • Oversee International Assignees and ensure relevant payroll taxes paid in Ireland in coordination with Corporate Benefits & external consultant support eg. PWC
  • Generate both scheduled and ad hoc payroll reports for various internal departments and outside government agencies
  • Internal & External Audit support as required
  • Calculate ad hoc severance payments and liase with external consultants eg.Mercer on same
  • Work on any ad hoc projects as required to support payroll requirements.
