Stryker's Information Services (IS) Sr. Solution Architect is responsible for enterprise solutions for our PLM portfolio across all Stryker divisions, R&D and GQO. The Sr. Solution Architect will partner with internal and external IS teams and business teams to lead the analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise PLM solutions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing solutions using “Best of Breed” business practices utilizing the Windchill Software suite of products, including requirements gathering, scope definition, solution architecture, gap identification and gap resolution.
  • Guiding an enterprise implementations and global rollouts together with program and project managers.
  • Serving as a PLM subject matter expert.
  • Formulating and defining system scope and objectives.
  • Devising or modifying procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time and form of desired results.
  • Preparing detailed specifications from which programs will be written.
  • Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Has full technical knowledge of all phases of PLM systems analysis and programming.
  • May be responsible for multiple phases of a project.
  • May have duties instructing, directing, and checking the work of other applications systems analysis and programming personnel.
  • May have quality assurance review responsibilities.
  • Present business status of projects, as required, to diverse audiences.
  • Contributing to project risk management at proposal stage and throughout project, making plans to mitigate them and communicate to Project Manager.
  • Leading functional workshops including co leading business process council workshops.
  • Supporting Project Managers & Business Analysts regarding functional aspects of the project.
  • Understanding, advocating and augmenting the principles of information technology strategies.
  • Analyzing enterprise business drivers to determine corresponding change requirements.
  • Analyzing the IS environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Developing a solution strategy on the evolution of the enterprise application from current to future state.
  • Coordinating solution architecture implementation and modification activities.
  • Facilitating the evaluation and selection of software product standards, as well as the design of standard software configurations.

Education & Special Training:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science of other technical discipline required.
  • Experience with PTC Windchill technologies in solution architecture required.
  • Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and supply chain principles required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 7-10+ years of overall PLM experience required. 5+ years experience with PTC Windchill strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing full end to end PLM implementation using PTC Windchill.
  • Strong understand on system integration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject mater experts.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills.
  • Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes.
  • Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
  • Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements.
  • Ability to estimate the financial impact of solution architecture alternatives.
  • Ability to apply multiple technical solutions to business problems.
  • Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.
