Job Title: Instruments Marketing Internship (4 month contract)

Reports to: Sr. Marketing Manager, Instruments                                             

Department: Instruments Marketing

Job Overview

Under the direction of the manager, the incumbent assists with the collection of market intelligence, data and research to evaluate trends in assigned market segments to help position products and target investments for growth.   Additional the individual will consolidate digital marketing collateral for new and existing products on internal databases & repositories. This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Marketing team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.  

Responsibilities

Individual Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborates with internal teams/departments to promote a culture of inclusiveness and cooperation
  • Responsible to live and exemplify Stryker’s Values: Integrity, Accountability, People and Performance.

System Cross Integration:

  • Perform a complete review of internal systems for collecting, storing and communicating marketing materials to our sales force

Primary Market Research:

  • Conduct primary market research for Stryker Instruments products coming on line in 2020 and 2021

Conduct & Compliance:

  • Abide by and support the policies set forth in the Stryker Code of Conduct
  • Understand that compliance with the Code of Conduct, as it may be amended by Stryker Corporation from time to time, is a condition of continued employment with Stryker
  • Conduct work in compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations and in accordance with Stryker’s high ethical standards
  • Report any violations of these policies and procedures to Stryker management or in the manner outlined in Stryker’s Ethics Hotline Policy

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Bilingual is an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills
  • A fundamental knowledge of marketing
  • Appreciation for the “solution” approach to the sales complex medical equipment
  • A strong comfort level in clinical setting (operating rooms, hospitals, etc.)
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Ability to consistently produce accurate, professional work
  • Ability to travel (up to 40% of the time)
  • Self-started with the ability to show significant initiative in problem resolutions
  • High energy level with strong people skills and a positive attitude
  • Able to develop good rapport with internal stakeholders and external sales force
  • Strong presentation skills

Education & Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement: University Degree or current enrollment in post-secondary education (preferably in Business or Marketing). MBA /MBA Co-Op student candidates preferred
  • Internal applicants with an equivalent combination of education, experience and performance over time at Stryker will be considered
