The Instructional Designer will create and maintain training and performance support materials for our Accelerate ERP program, Stryker's largest global transformational program to date. Additionally, the Instructional Designer will focus on creating learning and development experiences both in and out of the classroom. This is a terrific opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of our various ERP workstream processes.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Maintain training curricula through review of existing training plans, change impacts and lessons learned. Will assist in validating training audience, approach, and scope.
  • Develop course outlines and training material for various delivery methods including instructor led training (ILT), web based trainings (WBT), on-the-job training, coaching guides, practice labs, and job aids by leveraging business process maps, business process procedures, change impacts and business input in partnership with the business process owner.
  • Record and revise system demonstrations/simulations and job aids.
  • Identify and stage data in the training environment to support real life scenario exercises used in classroom training and practice labs.
  • Utilize various training technologies such as Articulate Storyline, EnableNow, gamification tool, evaluation tool, Sharepoint and learning management system.
  • Ensure courses meet the learning objectives and adjust as necessary.
  • Update the Learning Management System (LMS) as necessary.
  • Support trainers during classroom and lab activities with training logistics including materials, training environments, training IDs, and scheduling. May also be a physical presence in training, to support the trainers
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the Train the Trainer program to prepare Power Users to deliver and facilitate classroom training.

Education & Special Training:

  • Bachelors degree, preferably in training, business, quality or related field required.

Preferred Qualifications & Work Experience:

  • Relevant experience in adult education, learning and development, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience of adult learning, instructional design, e-learning and training methodologies.
  • Experience creating computer-based learning modules.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communications skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent PC skills.

Mental Requirements:

  • Must be able to analyze and resolve complex administrative issues of a broad scope using independent judgment.
  • Ability to prioritize work and keep accurate, detailed and confidential records.
  • Must be able to observe and correct minute inconsistencies (e.g. in the printed word, training materials, etc.).
  • Must be able to understand and work within complex interdivisional procedures.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and teamwork skills.
