In this role, you will design and develop electrical / electronic systems for new and existing surgical robotic systems.  You will also generate detailed electrical and electronic designs and release applicable documentation.  You will work closely with senior engineering members and several engineering disciplines (software, mechanical, and systems) to deliver Stryker products.



What You Will Do

  • You will create designs for printed circuit board and electrical subsystems for use within robotic systems.
  • You will implement designs and concepts, draft design documentation, plan and conduct relevant reviews and tests.
  • You will debug electrical circuit problems and implement corrective action and document and release the corrective action. 
  • You will Investigate field problems to the root cause and propose resolutions. 
  • You will use development tools, such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, and soldering stations.
  • You will communicate schedules as determined by project leaders.
  • You will clearly communicate status of assignments, coordinate tasks.
  • You have the ability to shift priorities as dictated by project demands.
  • You will work with several internal customers such as other research and development groups, manufacturing and quality.


What You Need

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Masters, or Doctorate (PhD) preferred.
  • 0-3 years experience.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
  • Basic ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Basic knowledge of analog and digital mixed circuit design.
  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems (electronics and firmware within a electro-mechanical chassis).
  • Be detailed oriented  with strong written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of programming test tools (such as Labview, Matlab) a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of design tools (Altium or Orcad/Allegro design tools) a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of analysis tools and statistical methods.
